About Filmbase
On the evening of September 28, as the East Lake Eye Ferris Wheel lit up brilliantly, FILMBASE's globally pioneering “Phantom Wheel Hidden Screen” Ferris wheel giant display made its debut.

This marks another industry breakthrough for FILMBASE in the field of novel displays, following the Flying Screen.Utilizing ultra-thin, glasses-free 3D transparent display film technology, FILMBASE's “Phantom Wheel Hidden Screen” spans an impressive 1,800 square meters. It supports movie screenings, real-time uploads of text, images, and videos, as well as live broadcasts, AI interactions, and gaming experiences. FILMBASE Co-founder and Executive President Lanlan Yuan revealed the core technical features of the Phantom Wheel Hidden Screen to the media: “This display is less than 2 millimeters thick and conforms to the curved surface of the Ferris wheel, achieving transparent display—presenting dazzling visuals without obstructing visitors' views of Donghu's magnificent scenery.”

During the illumination ceremony, the Ferris wheel screen simultaneously displayed excerpts from the East Lake cultural tourism short drama “East Lake Romance: A Perfect Match” and citizens' blessings in real-time comments. Concurrently, FILMBASE's “Flying Screens” on both sides lit up, forming an interconnected light matrix with the Ferris wheel screen. This transformed the entire East Lake night sky into a massive immersive light and shadow painting.
Where technology meets art, warmth intertwines with romance, elevating the “Eye of Donghu” beyond a mere Ferris wheel to become a new landmark of Wuhan's night economy.
Simultaneously, the public film screenings during the National Day holiday leveraged this giant screen platform, delivering three consecutive nights of cinematic feasts for citizens—truly integrating technological innovation with public cultural services.
Following its debut, the project garnered attention and coverage from major media outlets including Xinhua News Agency, Hubei Daily, Wuhan Release, Jiemu News, Yangtze Cloud News, and Shenzhen Evening News.

FILMBASE firmly believes that material technology is not only a driving force for industrial advancement but also an amplifier for urban culture. From the Flying Sky Screen to the Phantom Wheel Hidden Screen, we will continue exploring ways to infuse buildings and spaces with “light and shadow vitality,” bringing more futuristic screens from China to the world.
